Art Therapy
Art Therapy and the creative process enables you to express yourself without words. Learning and growing is possible through self- expression.
A picture tells a thousand words, and because art is a symbolic language, you can process your emotions visually. Deep meaning is revealed and change occurs from within.
Art is relaxing. It can release and reduce stress as well as increase self-esteem and self- confidence. I work with young adults ages 18-up through later life.
I address various issues throughout life stages. Art work is discussed through a variety of art mediums.
We will work through the different issues that adults often face throughout the years. Anxiety, fear, depression, and obsessive thinking are some of the symptoms that can be reduced while creating art work and just talking.
Art Therapy also helps with socialization and communication skills. You will learn to articulate your thoughts and feelings represented in your artwork. I will help you discover yourself and your unconscious perceptions, beliefs, thoughts and feelings.
Art Therapy is also a creative way to help with memory loss for people experiencing stress with emotional and mental challenges. It is very effective with those afflicted with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. Art triggers dormant memories and emotions. It can help bring lost memories back to conscious awareness.
Art Therapy is personal to me because I have experienced the power of the creative process in my own work as well as in others. We need art to feel fulfilled. I promote Life Coaching and Art Therapy as a means of discovery and change.
Both modalities are process oriented and both together and separately help you reach a new level of awareness while making lasting changes and attaining your goals.
What Clients are Saying
"I have always wanted to be a writer and took some writing classes but there was something holding me back- a lack of newness and vitality. When I needed some more hands on help, I knew Ellen could draw my gifts out with her creativity as an artist, writer and musician. She helped me set goals and break through limitations.Ellen encouraged me to try new ideas and techniques. She helped me with the written word - to describe nature- a passion of mine. It was very helpful and set me in motion. She always leaves me with key points and encouragement! On top of everything else, it's like having my own personal cheerleader! I enjoy our coaching sessions each week."

"I have been working with Ellen as a coach to help me with the small business we own. We were severely impacted by the coronavirus. We shut down for several weeks, laid off all of our employees, and saw a significant downturn in sales. Over the last few months that I have worked with Ellen we applied for and received the PPP loan, we brought back several of our employees, devised a plan to safely reopen, and our sales have been increasing. With Ellen’s coaching I was able to tackle some tough business decisions. She helped me tremendously by providing clarity during a stressful time. Every session we set goals and review progress. Her manner is soothing and knowledgeable. She has a business background, as well as excellent coaching skills. I am continuing my sessions with her as I have found them to be invaluable."
- Sally C.
"I worked with Ellen for several months and she helped me dig deep into my own perceptions and thoughts that were creating challenges in my professional and personal life. During our time together, Ellen taught me strategies to change my mindset, consider how my past experiences impact my decision-making, and develop goals and action steps to move me forward. I highly recommend Ellen if you are seeking a transformational experience."
