What is Art Therapy?

Art therapy is a tool used by art therapists to help you integrate, express and resolve your emotions and thoughts.Conflicts are understood and emotions are explored.



You can choose the materials you may want to use painting, drawing, coloring with markers or pencils, collages or sculptures too. Making art and talking is what is done in art therapy, It also can allow you to express yourself visibly or rely less on verbal expression.


Art therapy is different from an art class which focuses on techniques, talent and aesthetics.


Art can raise serotonin levels and enhance brain wave patterns and emotions in the nervous system.


There is a 73% success rate to help reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, and stress with art therapy.This is a powerful testament for what it can do for you.


Art therapy is a self expression for you to realize your full potential and growth.


Making art may prevent Alzheimers and dementia because creativity can help build connections in the brain. Art therapy can help people feel less alone in the world and can help retirees in their new challenges and life to grow and learn.


It may take a little time to get in the flow of art making but once you’ve started, you're on your way.Being bold to experiment is crucial and finding joy in every attempt at making art is an accomplishment.Nothing needs to be perfect.It’s fun to just see color splashed on a paper.If you create, art is possible.



Art improves self esteem, self awareness and confidence. I create in my studio at least three times a week. Have fun and enjoy the process!
